Game Results:

The Sabres overcame a rough treatment by the referees after picking up 22 minutes in penalties, leading to a two-man disadvantage on three occaissions.  The Soviets scored twice on the powerplay and once more early in the third period to tie the game at 3-3.  Sabres' captain, Glen Doody scored the winning goal with 7:30 left in the game. Curt Johnson picked up two goals for the night, and Scott Long scored the first goal of the game. Each goalie made 26 saves on the night.
